      MiPad 2 Comprehensive Flashing Guide Tutorial

      Let me walk you thru how to flash your MiPad 2, before we proceed let me tell you this will require some patience as I also experienced some diffuculty along the way while learning how to flash this thing.

      Note:
      1. Remember to backup your data, Flashing will delete all your data
      2. The Mipad 2 should have at least 30% charged battery
      3. Use USB Port at the back of the PC, it is direct to the motherboard, dont use the one on front
      4. Use USB 2.0, dont use USB 3.0 (Blue)
      5. Unzip the fastboot rom properly
      6. Remember to restart PC after installing all drivers properly to make sure its working
      7. Do not use Dual Boot Windows to perform the flashing, best is to use Windows 10 64Bit


      Download Mi Pad 2 Fastboot File from the China Forum Server (the one in Global Forum is not updated)


      Fastboot ROM Download Link





      Extract the file using either WinRar or 7-Zip and the folder should look like this





      Download the Intel Android Driver for Windows


      Intel® USB Driver for Android* Devices


      Download the flashing pack


      Flashing Pack for Mipad 2


      Note: Since the updated version, the final outcome of the file name may have changed, it will become "DNX_flash_all_flash_bios.bat", just run "DNX_flash_all" so that you wont go wrong.





      Turn off your Mi Pad 2, Press power button to turn on Mipad 2, when MI LOGO appeared, immediately Hold down VOL UP and VOL DOWN until you see the yellow line DNX FASTBOOT MODE appears, release the buttons.


      Connect the USB C cable to your Mi Pad 2 with the other end connected to the back of the PC.


      Install the Intel Android Driver (Run as Administrator)





      Allow Installation of Driver






      After Successful installation, immediately check the safely remove icon if the Intel Android can be ejected.





      If you see Eject Intel Android AD, it means you have successfully installed the driver.


      Extract the Flash Pack to the folder of the Fastboot ROM.
      Note: Make sure the Fastboot Rom is in the Root folder of C:\ or D:\

      Run "DNX_flash_all.bat" from the flash pack (Run as Administrator)





      It will now flash






      Flashing



      Flash Done






      And you are done!


      Wait for the MI BUNNY to turn into MI LOGO and it will now boot to MIUI 7.5

      Enjoy your newly flashed MI PAD 2!

    • @mitch002 Thanks for the guide. I have followed your tutorial and rom (official china dev) flashed without any problem!

      You suggest downloading official china dev rom from china server. i have flashed rom that was downloaded from global forum (en.miui.com/a-234.html) and the latest rom was installed (7.1.20) successfully. Maybe now the global forum updates their fastboot roms so we can download it from there?
