In case anyone was in doubt what will happen after Samsung announced a halt in production and distribution of the Note 7 at the beginning of the week, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just made the second recall of the phone official. In an updated press statement dated October 13, the agency lists the reason for the recall as "The lithium-ion battery in the Galaxy Note7 smartphones can overheat and catch fire, posing serious fire and burn hazard to consumers."
