Samsung is making 8GB RAM smartphones possible with the introduction of an 8GB LPDDR4 mobile package. With a thickness of 1.0mm, the package can be stacked together with UFS memory or a mobile application processor, allowing for space-saving integration on a mobile device's motherboard.

Moreover, the module uses four of Samsung's newest 16 gigabit LPDDR4 memory chips built on a 10nm process. Speed-wise, the memory is beastly, with transfers of up to 4,266 megabits per second – twice faster than DDR4 RAM for PCs that typically achieves 2,133Mbps.
