It has come to age now that most tv are wise and intelligent unlike the days of our grandparents and even parents that they only enjoyed CRT and LCD TV, they were so much thing in the past already. The internet as been an integral part of our lives already with the information age at its prime, even the refrigerator are wifi controlled.


Let me walk you thru the beauty of the MiTV 4A 49". This one is a little different from that of the MiTV 4 series which sports an aluminum frame, this one sports a plastic frame as this is the more affordable series in the MITV 4 lineup. The A in 4A would probably stand for Affordable, and yes we can say that its pretty much affordable the way it is.

Everything is complete, unit, remote, bracket as well as the manual are intact and was packed carefully by Xiaomi into 1 big box, took me a while to pull it out as the big bag of plastic was tightly squeezed to the styrofoam.

Okay, here is the main difference between MiTV 4A and MiTV 3s, the 3s is pretty slim even at the back, while the 4A has an embossed back which makes it looks a little more bulkier. But if you plan to hang it on the wall, there is no problem as its the same, you wont see the difference when its up there in the wall right? The frames are made of plastic but pretty much sturdy. It has 2 USB port, 2 HDMI Port, Lan Port, Video In and also the TV Cable In as well.

MITV in Action:















The UI is pretty much the same as the Mi Box and other variants of the MITV, therefore its Chinese by default you need to use the android setting to change system language to English. Google Play is not present as this is not an international version to begin with. The apps are pretty easy to navigate, didnt have much problem with it. Connection speed and streaming was fast as well. I was able to use voice command via the remote (you need to speak in Chinese though) to search for movie titles and it responded accordingly as well.


At the price of 2199 RMB, this is pretty much a big steal for anyone who is at a budget, you get the goodness of a 50 inch tv with the full power of the Mi Box 3. I recommend this MITV 4A and pretty much am happy with its build and performace for its price point.
