How to Fix YI IP CAM China Only Error After Update

Many of us went into trouble after we hit firmware update for our YI IP Camera for the recent months. This is an initiative of the company to segregate the International Version away from the China Version. Since they launched the International Version at a higher price, the company saw that its not moving well since many are still opting for the cheaper China Version. But little did we know that after November 2015, all units released from China, works only in China, at the same time those who made a recent firmware update, also went into trouble of not being able to access their cam again, FOREVER.
Now, let me walk you thru on how to reverse what you just did, in simple terms, lets flash in an old firmware to your YI IP Camera. Sounds Great? Lets Go!
Step 1: Download this August 2015 Firmware 1.8.5.1K_201508311131 of the Yi IP Camera: Yi IP Cam Firmware
Step 2: Unzip the file and place the "Home" File into a clean formatted micro sd card
Step 3: Place the micro sd card inside your YI IP Camera
Step 3. Get a pin and hold down the reset button at the back of your YI IP Camera for 5 Seconds until you heard a chinese voice prompt and orange led will blink
Step 4: Let the YI IP Camera perform the flashing, after that you will hear another voice prompt meaning its done and you can now use either MI HOME App or YI HOME App to link your YI IP Camera again to your account.
Step 5: MAKE SURE YOU DONT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE AGAIN OTHERWISE YOU WILL ENCOUNTER SAME PROBLEM AGAIN.
You can now use your camera normally just like before again.
