Finally the Mi Box 3c got an upgrade, presenting the Mi Box 3s! Let me walk you thru the basic specs of this new addition to the Mi Box family.
Specs:
This new Mi Box 3s is basically the same size as its predecessor the Mi Box 3c, it has improved in the RAM and ROM category as well as the reolution output as it supports HDR. It also supports Google CTS Android 6.0 compared to v5.0 in the Mi Box 3c.
Whats in the Box:
We then setup the mibox and converted it from english to chinese using Settings.apk to be able to access google settings, and we found out there are only two supported language, english and chinese. Unlike the Mibox 3, it supports multilanguage when accessing the google settings. Now we have explored thru the Mi Box 3s and we seem to see no difference between the Mi Box 3 and the Mi Box 3s software. It just so happen that the processor and storage are different plus some other features other than the software. Hence the interface:
One app that we have notice that was not present in other mibox was the Mi Jia Home App. Which is used to control all your connected device in one single app. Now you can navigate it using your TV as long as you use your MI Account in the Mi Jia Home App.
You need to Root this unit to able to install Google Play Store and other apps that you might need.
Currently there are no official tutorials to convert this to English Firmware.
