Seldom do we see some items being sold by Xiaomi that cannot be synced with the Mi Home App, this is one of the rare few. The 70Mai Intelligent Rearview Mirror is simply one of them. Now I have been in the market playing with different dashcams, from XiaoYi to Xiaomi dashcams, and now stumbling upon this one is an amazing unboxing for me. There are a few manufaturers who have been making rearview mirror dashcams in the market but are not really that good. This one really caught my attention and I did not hesistate to unbox it immediately.

What we are looking for in a dashcam is simply the clarity of the camera when played in recording mode, espcially when you got bumped and you want to check the plate number of the car who bumped you, this one seems pretty clear for me. There are some which in dim lighting had a hard time to read and decode the plate number since their sensor aint that good to begin with.

This practically is the first dash cam I have used a USB Type C on it and its pretty advanced, all others are still using the old micro USB still. The battery on this one is removeable as opposed to other dash cams which are build in and you cant seem to detatch it unless you unscrew everything to take it off.

The item is pretty snug fit, on the rearview mirror but its a little shaky especially on bumps and humps and potholes. But running smoothly its pretty sturdy. Now there are lots of functions to do on this gadget, you can play music and even chat with the build in AI as long as you have mobile data on it. There is a drop down menu for your to use, you can either play music on the dashcam itself, or broadcast via radio frequency for it to play on the radio instead. You can expand the memory up to 128GB.

Warning via ADAS is accurate when you are too near a vehicle or your swerving, it will notify you immediately. You can ask Xiao Mai to search something for you on the web like video or music, and it will respond to you. BUT! You need to speak in Chinese tho.

70Mai App:








The 70Mai app can be synced to your MI Account, this is the only relationship with Xiaomi I have seen on this item, and pretty much you can control some features on it, but most of the time I use everything on the 70Mai itself and seldom do I connect to the phone. When I ran out of data on the sim card, I just tether my phone and let the 70Mai receive data from my mobile phone, aint it awesome?
