    • Redmi Note 5 China vs Redmi Note 5 Pro India: Point by Point Comparison/Analysis

Dear Redmi Note Fans from Across the World,

The release of Redmi Note 5 Pro in India was the second time that Xiaomi has decided to release a smatphone outside China first before inside their home turf, the first being the Mi 4i in India first then Mi 4c follows suit in China after a couple of months. Now, we are witnessing another historic event in the Redmi Note 5 Pro as this was debuted in India first, then now, behold the Redmi Note 5 China. Confusing isnt it? Now, Im here to break it down side by side and give you the most accurate pound by pound comparison based on the official website by Xiaomi and not from any other source. And we shall find out which is the better phone, the Redmi Note 5 Pro India or the Redmi Note 5 China.

As we opened the initial specs sheet from both websites, this what we saw, the most basic specs

Redmi Note 5 Official Specs Sheet - mi.com/redminote5/specs/

Redmi Note 5 Pro Official Specs Sheet - mi.com/in/redmi-note-5-pro/specs/

So if we summarize the basic specs, it looks like this

Now as we can see that the back camera specs of the Redmi Note 5 China is not specified, we need to sort of explore it inside the official website.

      SoC, RAM, Storage

We have seen that there are 3 variants for Redmi Note 5, 3+32, 4+64, 6+64, while Redmi Note 5 Pro has 2 variants being 4+64 and 6+64. China caters to more lower market and they have been doing it for a while since the previous note series that we know. The processor being Snapdragon 636 which sports a 1.8Ghz nm Octacore processor coupled with Adreno 509 GPU are the same on both variants. The RAM timing is also LPDDR4X 1333Mhz on both units and both have eMMC 5.1 flash storage.

      Dimension:

With these being shown, the dimensions are exactly the same for both units.

      Battery

Both units comes with 4000mAh capacity Lithium Ion Polymer Battery but Redmi Note 5 Pro only supports 5V 2A Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, while Redmi Note 5 supports up to Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

      Connectivity / Network

The Redmi Note 5 Pro only supports 5 LTE Bands while the Redmi Note 5 can support 10 LTE bands, which makes the Redmi Note 5 a better choice going into other countries other than India. All other connectivities are basically the same, Wifi and Bluetooth.

      Keys and Buttons

Looking at the placement of all the buttons, its pretty much the same except that Redmi Note 5 Pro did not indicate the placement of the displacement of the microphone and the noise cancellation mic in the specs sheet but we have already reviewed it and hence its present on the Redmi Note 5 Pro and here are the photos:

      Sim Card Slot

Both unit have the same specification for Sim 1 Nano and Sim 2 Nano / Micro SD card which supports up to 128GB.

      Sensors / GPS and Multimedia

Everything is basically the same here for GPS, Sensors and Multimedia Support.

      Camera

This is the fun part! Everyone wants to see whats the comparison between the specs of both cameras and here we go for the specs of the camera. Redmi Note 5 Pro definitely has announced and we have confirmed during our review that it indeed sported a 12MP Sony IMX 486 Sensor on the rear coupled with a 5MP Samsung sensor camera and a 20MP Sony IMX 376 in front.

Meanwhile on Redmi Note 5, we have received reports from weibo that it is sporting a larger sensor size at 1.4um as well as a better aperture size at f/1.9. The sensor is revealed to be 12MP Samsung S5K2L7 + 5MP Samsung S5K5E8. Up front we have 13MP Omnivision OV13855. There is your main difference between the two phones. Now Redmi Note 5 has sported AI Auto HDR into the front camera to help you take that perfect selfie. This is a counterpart to the Beautify 4.0 present in the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Now whats amazing is that AI is supported on front and back camera for the Redmi Note 5, which gives it the edge over the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Both phones supports face detection security, so there is no difference for that.

      Packing List

Both units ships with the same contents, its nice to see the Redmi Note 5 Pro declaring its SAR values to consumers, I cant find the SAR Values for Redmi Note 5 in the official website.

So there you go, I have given you the best analysis based on official site's specifications. If you have questions, comment below.
